Carl was born on February 11th, 1835 in Grapitz, Pommerania (Germany).  Carl's father was Johann Gottfried Magdsick and his mother was Wilhelmina Freideria Darschkow.  His paternal grandparents were Christian Magdsick and Gottlieb Wiedenhoft; his maternal grandparents were Ernst Darschkow and Anna Christina Schulz.  He was an only child.  He died in Königlich-Freist, Pommerania (Germany).
